We are looking for an experienced and qualified (City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 minimum) Vehicle Technician who has experience of working on HGV vehicles to join our team. The successful candidate will be hardworking with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude. They will be keen to work on a variety of vehicles whether that’s in a team, displaying a strong teamwork ethic or independently. The ability to follow instruction is also essential. A solid interest and/or experience in vehicle diagnostics and electric/hybrid vehicles would be advantageous as we potentially see this role progressing within the field.
Main Duties
- Repair vehicles (mainly HGV but there would also be light vehicles to work on too) and make routine maintenance checks to ensure that the vehicle is running as it should be.
- Perform diagnostic work on vehicles to resolve issues using relevant diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure vehicle servicing activities are completed in a safe and high quality manner in line with both internal and manufacturer requirements.
- Good technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicles and a high level of attention to detail.
- Possess the ability to work well with customers, maintaining a patient and friendly attitude.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of Vehicle Technician experience since being qualified
- Effective diagnostic skills
- Ability to work alone and in a team
- Ability to manage time effectively
- A strong interest in motor vehicles
- A class 1 or 2 licence would be an advantage but not essential
Hours of work : 8am-5pm (with a lunch break) Monday-Friday - overtime on Saturday morning 7am-12pm as and when required
Salary: Up to £35,950.20 DOE + overtime available
